x-rays are fun!

I've had pain in my heel for a while and finally went to the doctor for it today.  The doctor thinks it is plantar fasciitis, but wanted to make sure there are no bone spurs so he sent me in for an x-ray.

That circled spot is awfully close to where Vaughn stabbed me in the foot with a pencil.

Too bad radiation is potentially dangerous, because I would love to have a whole lot more body parts x-rayed.  It's just fascinating.

I had plantar fascitis twice. So painful and I had to work on it which made it worse. The last one I got was when I was 38 wks pregnant. The best thing that worked for me was using a tennis ball or any hard ball and using that to massage the foot. And I bought the soles to allivate the pain when walking. I feel for you and I hate having it.

Have I told you lately how much I miss you??!! I love this x-ray post. I think they're fascinating as well :) I just had an MRI yesterday and while I'm not looking forward to the bill, I think that having photos of my brain is super cool. I love the cute new dog and I LOVE the colors for Delilah's room. I can't wait to see you again!

I dont know you, but Im an xray tech that was just browsing pictures of xrays and found this picture. The two ball shaped bones in your feet are called sesamoid bones, which are bones that kind of float in the body and are completely normal. The largest sesamoid bone in your body is your patella or knee cap. The ridges you see in your calcaneus or heel is also normal. Just thought you should know. :)-

^^this is why people don't usually get to look at their x-rays. Because they don't know the anatomy and pathology if there is any. Yes, those are sesamoid bones and they are normal..
